Master of Design Program（硕士学位点简介——设计学）

The Master of Design Program (a first-level discipline) traces its roots to the former second-level discipline of Design Art. Authorized to grant master’s degrees in 2000 and admitting its first cohort in 2002, the Design Art discipline was named a Jiangxi Provincial Key Discipline during the 10th and 11th Five-Year Plans. It was successfully upgraded to a first-level Master of Design program in 2011, with enrollment under this new discipline framework launching in 2019.

The program boasts a distinguished faculty team of 43 graduate supervisors, comprising one member of the Teaching Advisory Board for Industrial Design under the Ministry of Education, four provincial-level academic leaders in higher education, and five outstanding young and middle-aged master teachers. Under their expert mentorship, our graduate students have garnered an impressive array of accolades—including such prestigious international design awards as the German Red Dot Design Award, German iF Design Award, and American International Design Excellence Award (IDEA), as well as top-tier domestic honors: the China Star Design Award, National College Advertising Art Competition Award, National Design Master Award,  the IDEA-KING International Landscape Planning and Design Award and the Jiangxi Star Design Award. To date, 12 graduates have advanced to doctoral studies.
