Dean Li Zhixiu and Her Delegation Visit Shanghai for High-Level Talent Recruitment and International Education Exchange

To further advance the construction of a high-level faculty and actively introduce high-level talents, Dean Li Zhixiu, together with Kang Xinhui, Vice Dean of the Industrial Design Research Institute and Director of the Department of Industrial Design, and Wang Xueqiang, Director of the Department of Architecture, visited the School of Design of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SJTU-Paris Elite Institute of Technology, and the College of Design and Innovation of Tongji University for high-level talent recruitment and academic exchanges, from March 17 to 18, 2026, achieving positive results.

During the exchange at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Dean Li Zhixiu and her delegation held in-depth talks with Zhang Kai, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Design of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wang Chong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Liu Zhao, Deputy Director of the Department of Liberal Arts, and You Lie, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Department of Architecture. Dean Li elaborated on the progress made by Nanchang University in recent years in discipline construction, scientific research platforms, international cooperation and talent cultivation, and focused on interpreting the university’s policies and supportive measures for the introduction of high-level talents, including research start-up funds, team building support, and international exchange platforms. The two sides also conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the development trend of design disciplines and the innovation of talent training models.

On the second stop, Dean Li Zhixiu visited the SJTU-Paris Elite Institute of Technology and exchanged ideas with Lv Jiangying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the institute, as well as teachers Zhu Sinan and Yin Yihe. Secretary Lv systematically introduced the institute’s exploration and practical experience in Sino-French joint education, and focused on sharing innovative measures in the construction of an international curriculum system, the dual-tutor training mechanism, and the cross-cultural training model for engineering talents. Dean Li stated that such experience provides an important reference for the School of Architecture and Design of Nanchang University to promote international cooperative education and raise the international level of talent cultivation.

At Tongji University, Dean Li Zhixiu and her delegation had a forum exchange with Professor Xin Xiangyang, Dean of the College of Design and Innovation, and teacher Zhang Tian Jiao. Centering on Nanchang University’s strategy of "strengthening the university with talents", Dean Li detailed the university’s policy advantages and development opportunities in the introduction of high-level talents, and sincerely invited outstanding young scholars to join Nanchang University to jointly promote the high-quality development of design disciplines. Professor Xin Xiangyang spoke highly of Nanchang University’s development achievements in recent years and put forward valuable suggestions on interdisciplinary integration and the cultivation of innovative design talents.

At the talent recruitment promotion event held at Tongji University, many postdoctoral researchers from design and related fields attended the event actively, learned carefully about Nanchang University’s talent introduction policies and scientific research environment, and had full exchanges with the recruitment team. Many young scholars expressed a strong willingness to join, looking forward to realizing the unity of personal academic development and social value at Nanchang University.

This trip to Shanghai for high-level talent recruitment and exchanges has not only effectively enhanced the influence and attractiveness of the School of Architecture and Design of Nanchang University, but also laid a solid foundation for introducing a group of outstanding talents with international vision and innovative capabilities.
